Canine (Dog) diabetes diet

A canine diabetes diet is best to keep your dog’s sugar level under control with a balanced body weight. Dogs need a high protein diet and low carbs while it is different in humans. If you have a diabetic dog then you will have to tackle his urge of constantly eating food as it can increase his sugar level which can lead to liver, kidney, heart disease and blindness. You can give your dogs meals in regular time intervals and remove the bowl if food from floor after he finishes his meal. You will have to practice it for some time before he becomes habituated. A canine diabetes diet should be high fiber and foods that are high in saturated fats should be avoided and don’t feed him those foods that are not meant for dogs. High fiber foods break down during the process of digestion slowly and not at one time and hence they disperse small amount of sugar and hence keeps sugar level under control.
