When you are being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes then you need to follow some steps:

Step 1: Every one has a different experience with Type 1 diabetes but the treatment is same for everyone as they need to take insulin, take a balanced diet as prescribed by the dietician, should take carbohydrate evenly spread through out the day and one must not forget about doing proper exercise. You need to keep your sugar level under control.
Step 2 : Living with Type 1 diabetes you need to watch out for the symptoms like low sugar and high sugar level.
Symptoms for low sugar level: sweating, weakness and hunger. Low sugar level usually happens soon after insulin intake.
Symptoms for high sugar level: increased thirst, urination and blurred vision.
Both low and high sugar level are not good for health.
Step 3: In type 1 diabetes high blood sugar can damage blood vessels and can lead to problems with your eyes, heart, blood vessels, renal failure. Having diabetes for a longer period of time will lead to more complications. Living with Type 1 diabetes you will have to watch the symptoms and should undergo regular screening tests.
Step 4 :Living with diabetes type 1 you need to keep your sugar level normal. If you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure then you need to go for proper treatment. You should see your doctor every 6 months who will review your treatment and see if there are any complications – if so then treatment needs to be done.
Step 5 : Living with Type 1 diabetes you need to learn how to handle stress as stress increases your blood sugar level.
