There emerged a ray of hope when researchers found out 10 new gene variants related to blood sugar level and insulin. That may help to treat the Type-2 diabetes .Previously it was believed that four gene variants were associated with Glucose metabolism. And among them one was affecting the Type-2 diabetes. According to researcher Dr. Jose Florez the identification of new gene variants will help for treatment of Type 2 diabetes.Florez told that new invention will be helpful in observing the regulation and variation of glucose level and new therapies can be applied. The study was published in online edition of journal “Nature Genetics”.
The researchers with international repute researched with about 2.5 million gene variants (Called SNPS), 46000 subjects without diabetes were involved for study. Study was made to find out the relation of gene variants with regulation of glucose and its variation in human body.10 SNP was chosen from the 25 most promising gene variants found out related to diabetic risk.
Florez mentioned that since all gene variants are responsible for rise in glucose level.
We have to find out the cause of rise, to treat the diabetes. This is good news for people suffering with Type 2 diabetes.
We'll send you more information about Gene variants linked to diabetes detected. to your Inbox...
